The Therapeutic benefit of Movement

In addition to being trained as a counsellor, I am also trained in 5Rhythms therapeutic movement practice, which means that I have an awareness of how our worries, struggles, anxieties and tension, are not just held in our thoughts, but in our bodies – the issues in our tissues! 

Anyone who is familiar with the book ‘The Body Keeps the Score’ by Bessel Van Der Kolk will be familiar with this approach. I run classes and workshops in this practice and those interested can find further details at:

Sometimes clients ask me to bring a specific body-focused approach into their counselling and so sessions become a kind of somatic therapy or person-centered embodiment therapy. 

I am also happy to work 1:1 with clients focusing purely on an embodiment-therapy and therapeutic movement approach.
